Burradon Community Primary School Receives Legal Aid to Help Children Learn the Laws of Nature in Nature Garden

Irwin Mitchell Solicitors, Newcastle has generously donated £250 to Burradon Community Primary School to develop its nature garden. The school is to create raised beds within its nature garden area which enable the children to grow vegetables as part of their environmental study classes. The funds will also be used to plant trees within the area and to purchase a petrol strimmer which will be used to maintain the nature garden and prevent the area becoming overgrown.The creation of the raised beds and tree planting is a further phase of the development of the nature garden which is extremely popular with the children and includes a nature trail, pond, pathways, wildlife habitat, bat boxes, bird hides, picnic tables and benches.Emily Sutherland, Irwin Mitchell visited the school prior to the holidays and spent a morning with the children in the nature garden.Miss Hunter, Head Teacher, Burradon Primary School said: “ We are extremely grateful to Irwin Mitchell Solicitors for their generous donation which has enabled the school to develop the nature garden which is a hugely important and popular amenity with the children.”
